Papaver somniferum

This is an oriental poppy done for my portfolio.  Fun Fact:  Those lovely oriental poppies in your yard are the same species as Opium Poppies, but you’d need acres and acres of them to be able to make the drug.  They’re also the same species whose seeds are put on bagels.  and those seeds look pretty cool under a microscope.
